Review for 100 Dalhousie:

100 Dalhousie is a newer condo development by Pemberton, a reputable builder known for quality construction. The building itself is modern and well-maintained, with amenities that are typical of newer condos in Toronto. However, the location and overall living experience leave much to be desired.

The biggest issue with 100 Dalhousie is its location at the corner of Jarvis and Dundas. While it’s close to some conveniences and transit, the area feels unsafe, especially at night. The neighborhood has a high volume of foot traffic, and the presence of questionable characters in the vicinity can make coming and going uncomfortable. This is a significant downside for anyone looking for a secure and peaceful living environment.

Another concern is the high turnover rate of residents. It seems like people are constantly moving in and out, which creates a lack of community and stability. Many of the residents are newcomers to Toronto, and while this isn’t inherently a bad thing, it contributes to a transient atmosphere that doesn’t feel like home.

The units themselves are a mixed bag. While they are new and well-finished, many are long and narrow, resembling shoeboxes. This design leads to minimal natural light in some units, making them feel cramped and dark. If you’re someone who values bright, open spaces, this might not be the right fit for you.

On the plus side, the building does have key fob access for the elevator floors, which adds a layer of security. However, this doesn’t fully compensate for the overall unease caused by the location and the constant flow of people in and out of the building.

In summary, 100 Dalhousie has potential, but it’s held back by its location, the transient nature of its residents, and the less-than-ideal unit layouts. If you’re considering moving here, I’d recommend visiting at different times of the day to get a feel for the area and the building’s atmosphere. For the price, there are likely better options in safer, more welcoming neighborhoods.
